Hi okay so I'm new to stocks and recently became interested as an 18 yr old but my friend bought stock of American airlines when it was around 30 cents a share it's now at 1.15 could he cash out now? Should he? Because as I said I don't know much but I have read people who say that amr stock is worthless

Hi colin, well you know what Buffets says about airlines. Everytime he gets the urge, he has 1-800 number to call, where they pick up the phone and say dont do it

Yes if he has 400% profit on achapter 11 company, he should cash in.

AMR is pretty much worthless at this point. If you're still holding the stock, cash in right now. Only went up yesterday based on the bond auction (to establish the cds leve). Today the hype was about US Airways potentially taking over AMR, but that would in any case not happen before the existing shareholders are wiped out.
