Jeg kan huske for knap et par år siden, at Vestas i en regnskabs-rapport og Ditlev Engel på den efterfølgende pressekonference viste HVOR lidt af Nordsøen der skulle bruges til havvindmøller for at forsyne hele Europa med elektricitet.
Det var dengang, man stadig troede på vind som en af fremtidens væsentlige energikilder. (Og det var også inden 3x15 blev skippet endeligt, også af Vestas.)
Det er tankevækkende, at vi allerede begynder at se den slags visioner igen. Det er også tankevækkende, at vi inden for meget kort tid har set politikere sætte handling bag ordene: PTC-støtteordningens forlængelse i USA, de japanske intensioner og senest det nye EU budget.

Jeg tror, det var ved halvårsrapporten for 2011, som kom i august 2011, at det blev illustreret, hvor lidt af Nordsøen der skulle plastres til med vindmøller for at forsyne hele Europa med elektricitet.
Anyway: Min pointe er, at måske er vi ved at vende tilbage til mere normale tilstande - og det er de seneste få år som har været de unormale. Tilbagevendingen til det normale er sker muligvis overraskende hurtigt.
Efterhånden vinder den grønne dagsorden frem igen - og efterhånden bliver det tydeligt, at Vestas' turn around er en succes.
Så kan det komme til at gå meget hurtigt opad for Vestas-kursen - herom er jeg helt enig med tråd-starteren.

I øvrigt: For et par år siden var jeg sammen med nogle englændere som brugte udtrykket "Copenhagen" som slang-udtryk for, når noget går helt galt og slet ikke efter hensigten...
Og det var bestemt ikke en slags joke rettet mod mig - for den pågældende greb sig i det og undskyldte, da han kom i tanker om, at der var en dansker iblandt dem.

Elbilerne kommer i løbet af de næste 10 år. De kommer i starten til at dominere i byerne, fordi de bliver den eneste form for transport der forbliver tilladt der. Byerne slipper både for støj og møg. Desuden vil elbilen være billigere en traditionelle motorer i anskaffelse. Dels på grund af lavere afgifter. Der vil også medføre en stor reduktion i CO2 udledningen og på den måde være med til at mindske jordens opvarmning.
Der er masser af andre sundheds fremmende fordele. Desuden vil elbilen være med til at holde oliepriserne nede. -

Du har ret, designet er en del anderledes end de andre direct-drive møller.
Og det virker jo som om at de har lidt held med det, de har jo overlevet indtil nu -
Jeg mindes at have hørt noget med at vindmøller til det japanske marked skal kunne holde til en noget højere max vind end normalt, det hænger vel sammen med risikoen for tyfoner.
Men kunne ikke finde noget om det.
Dette krav spiller vel ind på hvem eller hvilke møller som er anvendelige. -
Jeg synes det interessante er denne melding:
"We positively view our relationship with Vestas. We have an ambition to reduce the cost of renewable energy within the foreseeable future, and the V164-8.0 MW turbine could potentially be a solid contributor to that."
Bemærkningen tyder på at de store og professionelle aktører deler min tro på, at V164 8 MW møllen vil sænke COE på de bedste havmølleplaceringer markant...

White House Document Reveals Obama's Big Wind Energy Proposal

0In his State of the Union (SOTU) address, President Barack Obama reiterated his support for renewable energy. But what he didn't say was even more interesting.
A policy framework released by the White House in conjunction with the SOTU address highlights the specifics that were conspicuously absent from the president's speech. Among them is a proposal to make the renewable energy production tax credit (PTC) a permanent fixture of the tax code.
The measure is cited as a step toward meeting another goal contained in the policy framework but missing from the SOTU speech: the president's goal to double renewable energy production by 2020.
"To once again double generation from wind, solar and geothermal sources by 2020, the president has called on Congress to make the renewable energy production tax credit permanent and refundable, as part of comprehensive corporate tax reform, providing incentives and certainty for investments in new clean energy," the document states.
This isn't the first time Obama has proposed such an idea. Last February, the president called for a permanent PTC as part of his plan for business tax reform.
However, the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has stressed repeatedly that despite the industry's obvious preference for a PTC in the near term, the incentive was never intended to be permanent. Last December, AWEA said six years would be enough time to ramp down the PTC.
Under the six-year-phase-out scenario, the PTC would begin at the current $0.022/kWh and be phased down by 10% annually, to 90% of that Value for projects placed in service in 2014, 80% in 2015, 70% in 2016, and 60% in both 2017 and 2018, at which point it would end.
According to AWEA spokesperson Ellen Carey, the association would be willing to discuss a phase-out as part of a broader discussion about the PTC.
"We would be happy to engage in further discussions, if and when Congress seriously engages in comprehensive, bipartisan tax reform where other industries are at the table as well," she tells NAW.
In the immediate term, however, AWEA is concentrating on continuing the momentum resulting from the recently passed one-year PTC extension.
"Right now, we are thankful that Congress extended the PTC for a year," Carey says, "and we need to focus on building more wind projects, maintaining our manufacturing sector and regaining the industry's momentum that was put on hold during the last year."
