that is the only sentence i understand (a bit) in this article, but it sounds positive, no?

Well, a tough one. As I understand it cd34+ progenitor cells are the cells you take out under an asct and then put back after high dose chemo. Now if dara was to used as maintenance after asct it wouldn't be nice if dara was toxic to these cells, as they also - besides cd34 -express cd38. This with all kinds of precaution.

One of dara's advantages is that it activates the complement system - one of our immune mechanisms - but they seem to have found out that cdc didn't occur in this situation. Lucky for the progenitor cells (and their owner).
