Longeteig said that Vestas intends to remain at its current staffing levels of more than 1,000 people at the Colorado factories.
But he added that "we are optimistic we will secure more orders for wind turbines in the United States and Canada in 2013."
The 20-year service agreement is the longest in Vestas' history in the United States and Canada.

The wind power company created and sold The Halkirk Wind Project in Alberta last year and says the Blackspring project will become the largest in the province when it is complete.
The two projects together are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 20 million tonnes over 25 years.
Greengate says the two projects will provide a clean source of power to about 200,000 homes in the province and it has several more wind power projects in the works across Alberta.
