Genmab (Hold, TP: DKK1685.00) - Darzalex sales hit almost USD3bn
Johnson & Johnson (J&J) just reported 2019 Darzalex sales of USD2,998m. As per its licence agreement with Genmab, the USD150m sales milestone was triggered and Genmab therefore maintained its 2019 guidance (Genmab’s Q4 results due at 17:00 CET on 19 February). The milestone payment was in our 2020 estimates, but we have now moved it to 2019. We reiterate our HOLD and DKK1,685 target price -
A nice surprise for them that the milestone was reached last year instead of last year. It however also proves that it is not important in the long run, hence they maintain their target price. I wonder if other analytics would have shared that line of thought in case the milestone unexpected was not reached.

Pensionisten: Debatten i går aftes drejede sig ikke om fremtiden slet og ret. Den drejede sig om det fremtidige salg af Darzalex. Her har sc stor betydning. Hvis sc ikke kommer på markedet i større omfang i 2020, vil det få stor betydning for salget i 2020.

Johnson & Johnson posted weaker-than-expected sales in the final quarter of 2019, raising the stakes for the health-care conglomerate as it banks on new cancer and immunology drugs to replace a group of aging blockbusters.
Some of the company's most lucrative medicines are facing competition from generics and biosimilars. Arthritis drug Remicade's sales fell more than 16% from a year earlier in the quarter, while Zytiga, an older treatment for prostate cancer, saw a nearly 14% decline.

At the same time, J&J's storied consumer businesses are also being pressed by upstarts. Sales of its baby-care products declined more than 26% in the U.S. as consumers increasingly look for alternatives to the company's shampoos, lotions and other one-time medicine-cabinet staples.

As the company adapts to those changes, it also is confronting increasing political blowback over high drug prices, trade turbulence and a series of lawsuits tied to a range of its products, from opioids to baby powder.
