Fredag endte de ledende kryptovalutaene kraftig ned. Bitcoin avsluttet året ned 1,17 prosent, Etherum endte 2,15 prosent ned, XRP endte 1,39 prosent ned og Litecoin endte 2,22 prosent ned.

Krypto, som for første gang ble introdusert for fjorten år siden, kan sies å ha tilbakelagt seg et aldri så lite «fjortis-år». Saker slik som dommen mot Sam Bankman-Fried etter kollapsen av FTX-plattformen, og adm. direktør i Binance, Changpeng Zhaos innrømmelse om at hvitvasking har foregått på plattformen, har preget omdømmet til krypto-industrien i negativ forstand.
