massive investeringer i nye amerikanske fabrikker og en reduktion af produktion i Mexico ville være en økonomisk gamble for de tre store bilfirmaer. Det kunne blive et mareridt, hvis markedet ikke understøtter de højere omkostninger, og en bail out ville ikke være utænkelig, hvis det går galt – men det afhænger af den politiske vilje og økonomiske situation på det tidspunkt.
