Her er et fint sammendrag af presseconf, "First death recorded in Mpox outbreak - four in hospital" https://www.algoafm.co.za/domestic/first-death-recorded-in-mpox-outbreak-four-in-hospital. Det er IKKE "DRC-varianten". En person er død og en person har haft mange partnere: både mænd og kvinder. Som behandling nævnes Tecovirimat i artiklen, mens på pressekonf nævnes også Bavas vaccine (se 19:20) til højrisikogrupper. Sundhedsministeriet har allerede kontaktet Gavi samt lande med stockpile.

Som det fremgår senere i pressekonf., så kommer SA ikke til at købe vacciner, men vil forlade sig på donationer, der bl.a. vil blive sikret v.hj.a. WHO. De forventer vacciner at ankomme inden for de nærmeste dage. (De lande / organisationer, der donerer, skal selvfølgelig genbestille - må man formode).
