Et problem er, at mange i EU indtil videre ikke fuldt ud anerkender, hvor stor en forbedring FSD repræsenterer sammenlignet med de biler, der aktuelt kører på europæiske veje. Dette kan dog ændre sig, når ulykkesstatistikker fra USA og Kina for de seneste FSD-versioner bliver tilgængelige og viser teknologiens potentiale.
