Det er værd at bemærke, at ordren kun omfatter bulkproduktion. $ 22,5 mio. afspejler dermed kun drug-substance-delent, mens fill-finish og levering af færdige doser typisk følger senere under PHAC-rammeaftalen. Den fulde økonomiske værdi pr. dosis ligger derfor betydeligt over det annoncerede beløb, hvilket ikke nævnes i PM.

Også værd at bemærke er, at BN opskalerede bulkproduktionen markant fra efteråret 2024 i forbindelse med mpox-udbruddet i Afrika og meldte dengang kapacitet op til ca. 40 mio. doser årligt, hvis efterspørgslen krævede det - og meldte at de producerede for fuld skrue. De store globale vaccinationsordrer materialiserede sig dog kun delvist (læs næsten ikke), hvilket sandsynligvis har efterladt BN med et højere bulk-niveau i systemet end normalt. Men det hører vi måske mere om snart...
