While ofatumumab as standard length monotherapy was inferior to continuous ibrutinib treatment in a recent comparative study (Byrd et al, 2014) and is no longer considered a standard of care comparator for the next generation of phase 3 trials, long-term dosing of ofatumumab may result in prolongation of PFS compared with standard length of therapy (Österborg et al, 2014).

In conclusion, based on our experience, therapy with single agent ofatumumab for
treatment-naïve elderly unfit patients with CLL is feasible, well tolerated, and effective,
obtaining response in 72% of patients. This treatment was safely administered to patients
with severe comorbidities and other cancer diagnoses. -

Cool! Det vil være fedt om Novartis kan få sendt ansøgningerne afsted, så de kan vise os deres commitment til onkologisiden af ofatumumab

Ja fornemmer ligesom at der alligevel er lidt grøde ved brug af OFA på den lange bane.. hvis man sådan husker lidt tilbage på alle de indlæg især GENTOGEN finder frem så mener jeg at kunne huske at lægerne er rimelig positive overfor OFA .. og vi mangler stadig at se om IBUTINIB holder kadencen når vi snakker flere år med brug af produktet

jamen, det er jo bare endnu bedre. Med den rene royaltyindtægt, så er det jo det bedste cashflow, der kan opdrives

Maintenance studiet har særdeles gode resultater, men det rigtig gode er, at det er uden ekstra negative bivirkninger. Nogle læger har været kritiske i forhold til maintenance ud fra den betragtning, at det var til gene for patienterne, men for en gangs skyld har GSK været forudseende ved at lave et parallelt studie i patienternes livskvalitet.
