Complement Activations through IgG Hexamers
Complement activation by antibodies represents a potent form of immune defense. By using cryo-electron tomography and mutagenesis studies we reveal the molecular mechanism by which antibody complexed to antigen triggers complement activation. Our data provide a model for understanding complement activation by antibodies and provides leads for its modulation.
